Ingredients Needed for Peach Foster Pudding Parfaits:

For this easy dessert, you will need the following ingredients:

Directions to Make Peach Foster Pudding Parfaits:

  1. First, make the peach foster on the stove-top. Sauteing sliced peaches with some butter, cinnamon, and honey, until they are golden and caramelized, which takes about 2 minutes.

2. Next, set the peach foster aside to allow them to cool slightly.   NOTE: No need to add any liquor to this recipe even though it would be yummy to add a splash of rum!

3. Now, make the vanilla pudding, and simmer it on the stovetop until it thickens, then allow it to cool slightly.  Drop a few peaches in each parfait glass, and remember to reserve a few slices to garnish on top, at least one slice per parfait.

4. Slowly pour the vanilla pudding into each glass, filling about 3/4 full or more, add a slice of peach on top, and chill for a few hours, or overnight.

Quick Tips and Notes…

  • We love the organic vanilla pudding that comes in a box.  It makes it so much easier to make pudding this way and the dessert comes together quickly.
  • The creamy texture of vanilla pudding complements the peach foster flavor, just as it would if you were to serve it with vanilla ice cream.  So yummy and delicious!
  • Summer desserts like pudding parfaits are simple to do and make a pretty presentation when you need one. You may try our dairy-free chocolate pudding recipe, it too is divine!
  • Of course, when summer comes around, the peaches are in full season, and we adore making these pudding parfaits often.
  • Foster is a simple cooking process, and it sometimes includes some alcohol. This recipe does not, but if you prefer, you can even add in a splash of rum! …we won’t judge! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Questions and Answers…

1. Can We Make This Dessert With Instant Pudding? I haven’t made it with the instant pudding, but I am sure it will work fine. If you do use instant pudding, please provide a comment, and tell us the outcome.

2. How Many Slices of Peaches Do We Need? When making the peach foster, it’s best to use about 16 to 20 slices. Because they will shrink as you cook them. Then drop about 3 to 4 slices into each glass, then follow the remaining directions.

3. Do We Need to Cover The Parfaits Before Chilling? I prefer not to cover the parfaits, simply because the warmth of the pudding may cause some condensation, which will create water on the surface. If you prefer, you can cover the parfaits with clear wrap, only after they are fully chilled.

4. How Long Will They Stay Fresh? These pudding parfaits will stay fresh if kept chilled and covered for up to 2 days.
