Pina Colada Protein Smoothie

Pina Colada Protein Smoothie is a delicious way to start your day!   Imagine a smoothie that tastes like a delicious pina colada!

The weather outside is starting to warm up here and even though this is the allergy season (and my family all suffer from this every year), the one who suffers the most is my 15-year-old daughter Elizabeth.  She needs allergy shots and vitamins to help keep her immune system intact.

So,  I made her this Pina Colada Protein Smoothie to help her get her day started before she went off to school.

I made this protein smoothie with a glass of Almond milk, a small banana, some fresh pineapple, shredded coconut, and my protein powder. And it tasted like my favorite drink, the pina colada!  Elizabeth loved it!  And, I love it too!

I  usually look for a protein powder that has plenty of vitamins, and at least 14 grams of protein per scoop, and you can use any protein powder with any smoothie.

Protein smoothies can be a great way to replenish fluids and repair muscle,  especially after a workout at the gym.  It’s a great “go-to” snack in the afternoon too.

For me, it’s easy to make and gets my day started.

And since I love Pina Coladas, this was definitely one smoothie I had to try!  I have to tell you it was very filling and refreshing! Thumbs up on this one!

Here’s a tip:  Don’t throw out your bananas,  I keep mine in the freezer so I have them when I need them for a quick recipe, especially when they are ripe.

Pina Colada Protein Smoothie

  • 1 small frozen banana

  • 2/3 cup vanilla Almond Milk

  • 1/2 scoop whey protein powder

  • 1 Tbsp. organic shredded coconut

  • 3 chunks fresh pineapple

  • few ice cubes

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend for one minute.  Pour into a tall glass and serve.

Oops sorry, I accidentally left out the fresh pineapple in the photo.   Recipe adapted by Saving Room for Dessert

  1. They are really delicious, i have made some changes in its ingredients. I have used chocolate in place of vanilla and mixed some blue berries. To change its taste, actually i don't like vanilla, so used chocolate. I have one more banana smoothies which i want to share with you.
