GREAT TIPS for SUCCESS!

  • Try not to add too much batter or you will have it spilling out of the waffle maker, making a mess.

  • One ladle-size scoop should do the trick and give you the right amount of batter for your waffle maker.

  • Keep in mind, that you can add less or more batter to the waffle maker, depending on the size of the waffle you prefer.

  • Use your favorite Gluten-Free flour and make them gluten-free!  As always, some gluten-free flours may change the texture of the waffles

  • Waffle Pans Make Great Holiday Gifts!  Choose from a single waffle maker to a deluxe size waffle maker that will make 4 waffles at a time; perfect for larger families.

  • Use any Non-Dairy Milk, if you prefer. I used whole milk, but you can certainly use non-fat or any low-fat milk with this recipe.

For us, making waffles is easier than making pancakes, and the clean-up is quicker too.

The texture of our pumpkin waffles is incredibly light and fluffy, while the flavor of pumpkin is very mild, and not too sweet.

Plus, it has enough pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon to make them addicting.

Trust me – they are wicked good!

Pumpkin Waffles are perfect to make and freeze any extras for another day.

Can I Use This Recipe To Make Pumpkin Pancakes?

Yes, you can! Just remember to set the mixture aside for at least 5 minutes or more for the baking soda to work its magic.

How to Store and Freeze Pumpkin Waffles?

Before freezing, it’s always best to allow them to cool completely before storing them in zip-lock bags.

Store in ziplock bags or into a sealed container and freeze. They will freeze for up to one month.

Serving Options…

  • You can easily pop them into the toaster to help make breakfast a snap!
  • Add some chocolate to the mix! Stir in 2 tablespoons of mini chocolate chips into the batter before adding to the waffle iron.
  • Just serve them with your favorite syrup and toppings, such as chopped pecans or walnuts, add a slab of butter on top, or sprinkle over them with some powdered sugar.
  • Best of all, if you have little ones, these pumpkin waffles can be pulled apart into smaller triangles, and they can dunk into maple syrup (place a sidecar, small glass, or cup with syrup) and make breakfast fun for the kids.

Nothing fancy but a delightful treat for breakfast!

Even on the busiest mornings, these waffles will turn out great!

So let’s go!

Pull out all the stops serve something special this weekend and make it a “memorable” breakfast!

ENJOY!!

These Pumpkin Waffles are incredibly light and fluffy inside while delivering the classic crunchiness on the outside. What makes these even more delicious is that they are made with real pumpkin. Super easy and delicious!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 egg

Option toppings for serving:

  • powdered sugar
  • maple syrup
  • butter
  • whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In one bowl, stir all the dry ingredients together.
  2. Make a well in the center and add all the liquid ingredients, milk, pumpkin, oil and egg.
  3. Gently whisk all the ingredients together until smooth. Do not over mix. The batter will be thick.
  4. Lightly spray your waffle maker with cooking spray and heat on medium to high setting.
  5. Follow the directions of your waffle maker. Mine beeps when the waffle maker is ready to use.
  6. Ladle the batter into the center of the waffle maker, close the lid and wait until it rings for your attention. I prefer to make small size to medium size waffles to stack them.
  7. Remove and serve with your favorite toppings.
  8. Yields: about 6 to 8 medium-size waffles, or 4 large ones

Notes

It's a good idea to test your waffle maker's heat settings with a small amount of batter for the test. Every waffle maker works differently. So heat the waffle maker on high heat, then lower it to medium heat when the batter goes in, wait for it to beep. Then taste the waffle and check the texture, and if needed - adjust the heat settings to your liking.
