Quinoa with Peas and Marinara Sauce

Quinoa with peas and marinara sauce is an easy protein dish you can whip up in under 20 minutes. A delicious high protein grain that becomes so tasty when it’s made with an easy marinara sauce and some peas that give a nice crunch. Ok, we are obsessed with quinoa and decided to whip up something not only light for dinner but one we could use with our favorite tomato sauce.


We used our Mom’s Quick Marinara Sauce, which is a fresh tasting sauce, and one you can make quickly.  Then  cooked one cup of quinoa in water Turns this quinoa dish into a delicious, healthy and gluten-free, everyone will love!

More and more people are seeking great tasting and nutritious gluten-free options. Quinoa is extremely versatile and easy to prepare.  You can use quinoa for everything, from soups to salads.

No need to pre-soak or rinse this quinoa which means the prep time is practically nothing!

Marinara sauce is great to have on hand. It allows you to whip up so many dishes.  Just follow the directions for cooking the Quinoa, then add some of Mom’s marinara sauce, some frozen peas, Parmesan cheese and Vuola!  It’s that easy!

Serve this Quinoa with Peas and Marinara Sauce as a side dish or as the first course. We know the whole family will love this simple dish, and even the kids! It’s an amazing and healthy way to substitute for pasta or rice!

Quinoa with Peas and Marinara Sauce

  • 1 cup Quinoa –  Organic 100% whole grain
  • 4 cups Water (for the quinoa)
  • 1/2 cup of Frozen Peas – rinsed
  • 2 cups Mom’s Marinara Sauce
  • 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese

Cook Quinoa with water in a 4 quart sauce pot.
Simmer until the Quinoa is fully cooked, about 15 minutes.
Add the marinara sauce and frozen peas.  Mix well and heat until sauce is heated through.
Add Parmesan cheese, mix again. Serve immediately.

Serves 4

    I love the idea of using the peas in the sauce. What a great healthy little kick to add to it and nice crunch too!
