The Green Drink-Spinach Smoothie

I think its time to skip the cereals and lattes and try this refreshing, delicious tasting green smoothie made with fresh baby spinach, pineapples, apples, bananas and coconut milk.  By far, it’s the best tasting green smoothie ever!

I made this smoothie for myself using only 3 chunks of pineapple, one banana (preferably frozen), and one apple and it was so delicious I had to get everyone to try it.  I used coconut milk for the first time and really loved it. When everyone took one sip of my green drink (including my sis Liz), they loved it so much I had to double my batch to make enough for everyone.

Like most smoothies, this one is relatively fast and easy.  This green drink leaves you feeling clean, healthy and satisfied for hours.  And, if you make them weekly, you’ll start to see a glow in your skin.

You’ll love this one as much as we do.

A great idea to make one as part of your family’s breakfast or have one as a snack in the afternoon.  It has enough sweetness to satisfy any afternoon cravings.  It’s even perfect after a workout at the gym.  It is an excellent vegan and kid-friendly smoothie!

I think it’s a better way to give your family and kids a healthy smoothie to drink that is loaded with nutrients and vitamins before you send them off to work and school.
Don’t you?

Like other dark green vegetables, the benefits of eating raw spinach is huge! Spinach is an excellent source of iron, vitamin C and beta-carotene, which are powerful disease-fighting antioxidants, and includes helping fight heart disease and cancer.

And, if you have fussy kids that think drinking ICKY green stuff is a “never happening kind of thing,”  try pouring this green drink into a non-transparent cup, it always seems to do the trick.  Also, the little ones will love this smoothie as well, just pour into their favorite “sippy” cup and call it juice!

Enjoy and have a great day!

Here’s a Tip: The easiest way to create a thick, ice cold smoothie (without adding any ice) is by keeping some of the fruits in your freezer, and the apples in the refrigerator.

The Green Drink-Spinach Smoothie

  • 6 chunks fresh pineapple
  • 2 small bananas ( frozen)
  • 2 small Fuji apples
  • 6 ounce package organic baby spinach (I used 1/2 package)
  • 1+1/2 cups coconut milk

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend on high speed for about 3 minutes.
Pour into glasses.

Yields: 4 cups

Hey girls! Your smoothie is such a pretty shade of green. I'm totally making this smoothie tomorrow for my post workout snack, as my favorite spinach smoothie reguires green grapes, and I can't get organic grapes right now. I love the addition of coconut milk! I'm sure it has a nice richness to it. 🙂 xoxo, Jackie

Hi Jackie, you know I didn't know a lot about coconut milk until recently, and it has the richness like milk but without all the sugar and calories. Girl, I am loving it! Enjoy!! xxoo

Thank you Marissa! And, welcome to our recipe site! My family is getting use to the green color, it was funny to see their reaction, at first they had to close their eyes before drinking it. Glad you enjoy them too!

Last year I restarted my regular exercise regime after realizing what a few years of unbalance had done to my once fit body. I also started getting more greens in my diet with great effects.
