Hi Ellen,
You can use high-quality chocolate bars, or baking chunks that provide better flavor with no stabilizers. We recommend chopping the chocolate bars for melting. These alternatives will melt better than chips, hopefully giving you the same, if not better, results. I hope this helps! 🙂

Please give a substitute for the chocolate rather than using the chips which have a chemical in them to keep their shape.
