Ingredients Needed For This Dip…
- REFRIED BEANS: One can of spicy refried beans, which took this bean dip to another level! It gave it a layer of creaminess along with a mild spicy kick.
- VEGETABLES: Plus, you will need some fresh cherry tomatoes and green onions for this dip. They are added to bring freshness to the taste while adding a punch of color!
- CONDIMENT: For additional color, flavor and texture, choose a small can of already sliced black olives, for easy prep. If you cannot find already sliced, you can buy them pitted and slice them yourself.
- SALSA: A jar of chunky salsa is always in my pantry and it is mixed with some sour cream to give it a zesty-creamy flavor.
- SOUR CREAM: Some sour cream is needed to mix with the chunky salsa for a creamy layer and texture. For Dairy-Free? Try a dairy-free sour cream, you can find at Whole Foods.

Notes, Questions & Answers…
- Can we use any can of refried beans? For our bean dip, we used one can (16 ounces) of spicy refried beans. But there are so many brands, from vegetarian refried beans, to organic refried beans, and many others. But if you prefer a more mild flavor, then, by all means, you may use the mild/regular refried beans.
- What kind of salsa can we use? I used medium chunky salsa, but you can use mild salsa if you prefer.
- What goes well with this dip? You can serve it with some of your favorite party chips, tortilla corn chips, gluten-free crackers, or fresh veggie sticks.
- Can we add some “hot sauce” to this dip? Not spicy enough? Then yes! Go ahead and add some of your favorite “hot sauce.” Just stir some into the refried beans, and adjust it to your taste.
- How do we serve this dip? It is best to chill it for at least 1 hour before serving.
- How to store this dip? Store it in an airtight container and the fridge, it will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
- Can we freeze this dip? It is not recommended, since the sour cream will hold up when it is thawed.
Everyone will LOVE this dip!
Make this dip for your gathering or game night and serve it with your favorite baked tortilla chips, or fresh veggie sticks on the side. Plus, having some cold beer nearby wouldn’t hurt either! ๐
