Nut Encrusted Tilapia or Basa Fish- Gluten Free ~ a twist on the expected fish fillets may even sway any fish haters to enjoy this one! Liz has created a new healthy fish recipe with a new flavorful twist! She calls it ” nut encrusted tilapia fish baked to perfection!”
Instead of frying or using breadcrumbs, she opt for mixed nuts and baking. Ingenious!
And, if you have already tried her crunchy nutty baked chicken, then here it is with white fish.
With a few simple ingredients she created a tender, crunchy crusted white fish that is so tasty and delicious you’ll be amazed with every bite!
A simple recipe to follow. She lightly coated each tilapia fillets with olive oil, then dipped them into a nut mixture and baked them until golden brown. So easy! It’s a healthier version to cooking the fish, while providing a great source of omega 3’s, extra protein from the nuts, and it’s gluten -free! You have to try it!

Nut Encrusted Tilapia or Basa Fish – Gluten Free
- 1 pound of white fish, Tilapia or Basa fillets
- 2 cups mixed unsalted nuts- chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 Tbsp. fresh Italian parsley – chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Chop mixed nuts to coarse texture. Place into a bowl. Add parsley, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper to nut mixture. Mix thoroughly.
In a small bowl, add olive oil for dipping.
Dip one fillet at a time into olive oil, allow excess to drip off.
Place fish fillet into nut mixture, pat each side until well coated.
Lay fillets onto a non stick pan or baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until nuts are golden.
Serves 2 to 4
