Halloween is a fun time to serve up these spooky deviled eggs as an appetizer.  They are so darn cute and spook-tacular! 

Everyone is entertaining this year and either going to dinner parties or having guests over for appetizers and drinks.

How to make Halloween Deviled Eggs?

Easy Directions To Make These Deviled Eggs:

1.  Simply boil the eggs in water on the stovetop for about 7 to 9 minutes.  Remove from the stove.

2.  Then place the eggs under cold running water for a few minutes.   Leave the eggs in ice-cold water for at least 10 minutes or longer to completely cool.

3.  Next, peel off their shells and slice them in half.  Gently pop out the yolks and set them aside.  

4.  Then follow the directions for both recipes in our recipe card below.   Decorate the tops of these deviled eggs with black and green olives to make them “spooky”  as shown in the photos.

I often make these deviled eggs as an appetizer before dinner for family and friends, right around Halloween.  It’s a fun way to enjoy them.

They were so good, I make them every year for any Halloween gathering.  Everyone adores them.

I love to watch them disappear as soon as I put them on the table.

Poof!  …like magic!

Spooky Deviled Eggs - 2 recipes

Spooky Deviled Eggs! Make a fun finger food appetizer and are just in time for Halloween! With two recipes for deviled eggs: both are topped with cute little spooky eyes and black spiders using green and black olives. Super easy and spook-tactular!!

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

Tuna-Stuffed Deviled Eggs:

  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 can of Tuna in Olive Oil ( prefer imported Italian Tuna)
  • 1 lemon -juiced
  • 1 small stalk of celery - minced
  • 1 Tbsp. minced red onion
  • 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • fresh ground pepper to taste
  • small pitted black olives

Evil-Eyes Deviled Eggs (more traditional recipe):

  • 3 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. minced red onion
  • 2 Tbsp. minced celery
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • Spanish green olives stuffed with pimiento

Instructions

    Directions for Tuna-Stuffed Deviled Eggs:

    1. Boil 3 large eggs in water for about 6 to 10 minutes. Drain, and cool.
    2. Peel off shells from the eggs. Set aside to cool completely.
    3. Drain the excess oil from the can of tuna.
    4. Transfer tuna into a small mixing bowl.
    5. Add celery, red onion, and mayonnaise.
    6. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into the tuna mixture and mix well.
    7. Cut eggs in half lengthwise. Slip out yolks and set aside to mash for the 2nd half of traditional deviled (spooky evil eyes) eggs.
    8. Stuff each egg with the tuna fish mixture.
    9. Cut the whole black olive in half. Put one half on the tuna mixture for the spider body.
    10. Thinly slice the other half for the spider legs, placing 3 or 4 legs on each side.
    11. Chill before serving. Best served cold.
    12. Makes: 6 spooky spider-deviled eggs

    Directions for Evil Eyes Creamy Deviled Eggs:

    1. Cut eggs in half lengthwise.
    2. Slip out yolks and mash them with mayo, mustard, red onion, celery, and parsley.
    3. Fill the eggs as much as you like. Cut green olives in half lengthwise and place them on the mashed yolk to create eyes, turning them slightly up or down to create spooky evil eyes. Chill before serving.
    4. Makes 6 evil-eyes deviled eggs
