Strawberry and Banana Kabobs with Chocolate…

We made these kabobs in the late morning and refrigerated them to keep them chilled till the afternoon.

They made such a great impression, everyone LOVED them!

The kids too!

We used only fresh strawberries and bananas, then we added powdered sugar, topped with a drizzle of semi-sweet melted chocolate, to make these kabobs …YUM!

TIPS for SUCCESS…

  • The confectioner’s sugar on top will help prevent the bananas from turning brown.  So shake it on generously.

  • Using a double boiler – melt one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Be careful when melting the chocolate, since chocolate and water do not love each other.   If one drop of water hits the chocolate it will ruin the entire melting process and you will have to start over.
  • Once chocolate chips are melted, using a fork to drizzle melted chocolate onto skewers, swinging the fork back and forth over the kabobs will help drizzle the chocolate evenly over them.
  • You can drizzle as much chocolate or as little as you prefer.  It’s up to you.

  • Allow the chocolate to cool.  Place a sheet of wax paper over the platter.  Immediately refrigerate until ready to serve!
  • Keep kabobs chilled up to 4 hours before serving, this will help prevent the bananas from turning brown.
  • Or freeze them!  Serve them frozen – they’re even more fun!
