Sesame-Ginger Tuna Kabobs Made Easy
We made these Sesame-Ginger Tuna Kabobs into bite-size pieces so they can grill up quickly. They are very easy to make and turn out delicious every time!
We love the blend of flavors in this tuna kabob. The citrusy lemon and ginger seasonings provide a refreshing taste to the tuna. Plus, the sweet tomatoes placed in between not only add a colorful touch to the kabob but also complement the tuna beautifully, resulting in a fresh and clean flavor.
So delicious, the whole family loved them!

Originally, these tuna kabobs were meant to be grilled outside. However, when it started to rain, we had to cook them indoors using a cast-iron pan on my stove. Surprisingly, they turned out perfectly grilled in just a matter of minutes.
To my surprise, my husband, who is a meat and potato man, said it was the best-tasting tuna kabob he has ever had!
We served these kabobs with our Best Zucchini Lasagna (without Noodles) as our side dish, along with a crisp green salad. It was a perfect dinner for a warm and rainy evening.
Ingredients Needed for Grilled Sesame-Ginger Tuna Kabobs:
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 tuna steak (about 3/4 pound)-cubed, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 10 heirloom orange grape tomatoes, sliced in half
- 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. Toasted Sesame Ginger Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp. lemon zest
- 1/2 lemon juiced
- 8-inch bamboo skewers
- olive oil, cooking spray
How to Make These Tuna Kabobs?
Making Kabobs is easy. You will need a bunch of wooden skewers, about 6-inch ones. But first, let’s run through our steps, explaining how to make them so you’ll understand what’s involved before you start.
1. First, cut your fresh tuna steak into 1-inch cubes and set them nearby. Then slice your grape tomatoes in half.
2. Next, thread pieces of tuna and tomatoes onto single skewers, starting with the tuna and finishing with a tomato at the top. About 3 pieces of each per skewer.
Helpful Tip: If you want to add more, thread pairs of skewers to support the weight and make turning easier while grilling.

2. Transfer kabobs to a platter. Lightly scatter and press the sesame ginger seasoning on all sides of the tuna to coat the fish. Drizzle olive oil and scatter lemon zest over them. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours or more.
3. Before grilling the tuna kabobs, remove them from the refrigerator and squeeze lemon juice over them.
4. Heat the grill for a few minutes. Then spray your grill with cooking oil.
5. Place tuna kabobs on the grill and grill the fish, turning, until the tuna turns to a pale grey color, about 1 to 2 minutes per side for medium-rare. Keep an eye on them since they cook up quickly.
6. Remove and serve. Yields: 7 to 8 kabobs

A beautiful, light and summery dish! I love tuna but don't think of it often enough.
I love kebabs, mostly with chicken and fish. I've done swordfish before and tuna is now on my MUST GRILL list! So healthy!
