The men in our family love an Old Fashioned cocktail, so we decided to share their recipe for this holiday Old Fashioned cocktail. We did forget to add one additional element to this drink, and that is a small orange peel as an extra garnish. But it’s not necessary. This “old-fashioned” is delicious just the way we made it today.

Ingredients for the Holiday Old Fashioned Cocktail
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
- Brown Sugar Cube
- Anise Star
- Aromatic Bitter
- Spiced Cherry Bitter
- Simple Syrup
- Bottle of Bourbon
- Large Ice Cube
How to Make a Holiday Old Fashioned Cocktail? (Step-by-Step)

Plus, you will need Old Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail Glasses. - First, grab your old-fashioned whiskey cocktail glass. Drop 1 brown sugar cube into the glass.

2. Next, drop one anise star into the glass, along with 5 to 6 drops of aromatic bitter, and one full droplet of spiced cherry bitters.

3. Use a cocktail muddler tool to muddle the mixture to break up the brown sugar cube and anise star. Do this for about one minute, or until the sugar cube is completely broken down and almost dissolved. QUICK NOTE: You can add a second anise star at the end, as an additional garnish.

4. Pour into the glass, only 2 ounces of Bourbon into the glass. Then pour in 1/2 ounce of simple syrup. Use a cocktail measuring cup or a jigger to measure correctly. Then give it a slow stir with a cocktail stick.

5. Finally, add a large ice cube. Plus, drizzle a small spoonful (one of two spoonfuls) of maraschino syrup, and one maraschino cherry as garnish.

6. And, immediately serve!
