Porcini Mushroom & Truffle Ravioli is from Trader Joe’s, and it is a lifesaver when you need something quick for dinner. We try to have a few packages of ravioli in the fridge and even carry other brands in our freezer.

So today, we decided to make a simple meal using a package of Porcini Mushroom & Truffle Ravioli from Trader Joe’s.

And, we have to tell you… This recipe is so FABULOUS! Best of all, you only need 5 ingredients to make it “look and taste” like a million bucks!

On weeknights when we’re not in the mood for or don’t have time to make a big dinner, we love coming up with a quick pasta dish. And, this happens to be one of them.

  • Ravioli: To make 4 servings, 1 package (8.8 ounces) of Trader Joe’s Porcini Mushroom & Truffle Ravioli (about 20 ravioli) will suffice.
  • Olive Oil: Always use the best quality of extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
  • Grated Cheese: We recommend using freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese to provide the best flavor. And, the best quality cheese melts into a velvety texture.
  • Seasonings: You will need some salt and black pepper, to taste.
  • Basil: Grab a few fresh basil leaves, roll them, and slice them into small strips to top each dish. The fresh basil adds a lovely aromatic touch and flavor to this pasta.

How to Make Porcini Truffle Ravioli (from Trader Joe’s)?

This is a simple recipe that will surprise you in every way! Plus, our full recipe card is located at the bottom with complete amounts and instructions.

  1. Fill a pot with water and set it on your stove top, on high heat. Toss in 2 teaspoons of salt into the water. Bring the water to a full boil and toss in the ravioli. These will take about 3 minutes to cook.
  2. Meanwhile, grab a cutting board and slice a few basil leaves into thin strips. Set those aside.
  3. Check to see if the ravioli are al dente, tender to the bite. Then drain.
  4. Serve about 5 ravioli per person, in individual pasta plates or bowls.
  5. Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil over them. Add some fresh cracked black pepper, if you prefer. Then, scatter with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and a few fresh basil strips on top. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.

Variations

  • Try serving these ravioli with melted butter and grated cheese. You can use either Parmesan or pecorino cheese with this recipe. It is simple and delicious, too.
  • You can make a light cream sauce, add some heavy cream to a skillet, heat it until it thickens, add salt and pepper, and toss with the ravioli.
  • If you need more servings, buy 2 packages, double the ingredients, and store the leftovers for lunch the next day.
