Pan Seared Salmon with Teriyaki Ginger Sauce is topped with an easy-to-make teriyaki ginger sauce and served in 10 minutes; it helps puts dinner on the table in no time!  All you need is your favorite steamed or fried rice as a side dish and dinner is complete.

Pan Seared Salmon…

Salmon is easily pan-seared on the stovetop for a few minutes, then it’s topped with an easy homemade teriyaki ginger sauce made with fresh ginger, garlic, olive oil, and soy sauce.

The teriyaki ginger sauce is what makes this salmon so flavorful and mouthwatering.  I think even the kids will eat it.

For years I never ate salmon.  Always thought the taste was too fishy for me.

But that has changed since I had salmon with this teriyaki ginger sauce at a friend’s BBQ years ago.  And I think this salmon recipe will dissuade others too!

Salmon Cooks in Minutes…

Whether you grill or pan sear the salmon on stove-top,  salmon steaks are known to cook up very quickly.  So you’ll have to stay nearby and keep an eye on it.

With that in mind, it’s a good idea to get started with cooking the rice as a side dish.

So by the time the rice is ready to serve, your salmon with teriyaki ginger sauce will be too and ready by its side.

You can easily prepare a green salad as another side and dinner is a snap!  Perfect for those busy weeknights.

Anyone who loves the flavors of fresh ginger and garlic will love them in this sauce.

I even mixed some of the teriyaki ginger sauce into the rice, making the rice a little more flavorful.  Dinner was easy and delicious!

After grilling meats all summer long, we prefer getting back to eating fish and salads.  Eating light is what we try to aim for the rest of the week.  How about you?

Try this recipe!  Let us know how it turns out for you!

Ingredients for Pan-Seared Salmon with Teriyaki Ginger Sauce:

  • 4 Salmon fillets or steaks ( about 1.5 pounds)

  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced vertically

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. finely grated fresh ginger

  • 1 garlic clove- minced

  • 1/4 tsp. corn starch

  • 2 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil

  • cooking spray

  • 1/2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds to garnish

  • 4 cups of steamed rice, for serving

Directions for Pan-Seared Salmon with Teriyaki Ginger Sauce…

1.  In a large frying pan over medium heat.  Lightly spray the pan with cooking spray.

2.  Add the 4 fillets of salmon, skin side up, and sear them for about 2 to 3 minutes, until they are golden brown and cooked halfway through.  Since Teriyaki sauces can be a little on the salty side, there’s really no need to season the salmon steaks for this recipe.

                                3.  In the meantime, slice the green onions.

4.  Peel back the skin on the ginger root, and grate the ginger.

Then mince the garlic clove.

5.  Gently flip Salmon fillets over and continue to grill for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Turn off the heat and set aside.

6.  In the meantime, in a small sauté pan, add soy sauce, sugar, ginger, garlic, corn starch, olive oil, and half the green onions.   Reserve some green onions to garnish.

7.  Simmer the sauce on low heat for 2 minutes, until the sugar dissolves and sauce thickens slightly.

8.  If the salmon fillets are fully cooked (to your preference), then transfer the salmon to a  serving platter.  Pour the teriyaki sauce directly over the salmon.

9.  Garnish with some sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top.  Serve with a side of steamed rice on the side.

10.  Serve immediately.  Serves 4
