Best part? With a few staple ingredients from your pantry, you can easily make this salad in minutes!
For this recipe, you will need 5 ingredients to make this tomato and tuna salad.
-
large ripe tomatoes
-
Spanish green olives
-
red onion
-
solid white tuna in oil, or Bumble Bee
-
extra virgin olive oil
-
salt and fresh cracked pepper
TIPS for SUCCESS!
-
The key flavor in this tomato and tuna salad is the quality of the olive oil you use. We prefer a good quality extra virgin olive oil and one that says on the bottle, “product of Italy.” Extra virgin olive oil is what gives this tuna fish its rich full flavor.
-
Also, if you allow the salad to sit on the counter or in your refrigerator for at least 15 to 30 minutes before serving, it will marinate the tomatoes and tuna, allowing the flavors to meld.
-
The secret to its delicious flavors, when the tuna blends with the natural juices from juicy ripe tomatoes and red onions, it creates an exquisite vinaigrette dressing all on its own!
A tasty salad, this Refreshing Tomato Salad with Tuna should be on your rotation.
This is such a delicious recipe! A wonderful addition to add to your buffet table, and one that will disappear quickly.
Take our word for it, this salad is refreshing to serve anytime! Just another quick and easy idea to serve on those days you prefer a light meal.
