Remove any tiny pieces and save those for a future soup, or maybe an omelet. Very small pieces of florets are not worth the effort of dipping and frying.  But definitely save them for something else, and use them within a day or two.

Then prepare the egg wash in one small bowl mixed with some salt, black pepper and grated cheese.

Then place some flour in a second bowl.

Next, pour some vegetable oil into a skillet and heat until the oil is hot.  When the oil is hot, take each broccoli floret, one at a time, and gently twirl it into the flour coating all sides.

Then twirl in egg mixture and place it into the skillet.  Repeat this process and fry a few at a time.  Use kitchen tongs to gently turn them over, about 2 to 3 minutes per side, until they are golden brown.
