London Broil Steak Grilled to Perfection ~ always turns out moist, juicy, and tender every time! Making dinner alfresco can be very enjoyable! We love to cook, but when it comes to grilling steaks, only my husband does it best! He has it down to a science (so he thinks). When he grills, he gets it right – no matter the size of the steak. He can grill a London Broil Beef Steak to perfection!
Here are some of his tips on How to Grill a London Broil Steak to Perfection!
-
First, it’s very important that you allow the meat to warm up to room temperature, at least one hour before you cook it.
-
It is equally important to heat your grill until extremely hot before you throw the meat onto it.
-
The thickness of the steak is as important, it should be a good cut and at least two inches thick. This will always guarantee while grilling it on the BBQ, the outside of the steak may be charred but the inside will be very tender and juicy.
-
Also, adding butter on top of the meat while grilling is crucial to giving the meat its tender and juicy flavors. Butter makes a huge difference in taste and you will notice the difference the first time you add it to the meat. So don’t skip it.
London Broil grilled this way always turns out perfect! Whether you grill it outside or cook it in the oven try these simple cooking tips.
Serve this great steak with our simple Italian Tomato Salad and some crusty bread, or with our homemade cheesy mini biscuits on the side and it’s a simple and delicious dinner!

August 25, 2021 at 12:45 pmFollowed your directions to a tee. Tough as a boot. What did I do wrong?
by Anna and Liz
August 25, 2021 at 9:06 pmHi Linda, if you followed my instructions and it didn’t turn out “well-done” then I would go back and tell the store where you purchased the meat.

April 13, 2022 at 3:54 pmYour instructions mentioned medium and rare. If you follow your directions why would anyone expect it to be well done ?
by Anna and Liz
April 13, 2022 at 4:05 pmHi Craig, there are people who prefer their steaks to be medium-well done. I know plenty of people who prefer it that way.

September 21, 2020 at 3:14 amMy London broil is like 4 inches thick, how long should I cook it for med rare? It’s quite a large London broil.
by Anna and Liz
September 21, 2020 at 8:08 amHi Barbara, that’s a good question. I think it’s best for you to check out our time and temperature chart for https://2sistersrecipes.com/how-to-grill-steak-perfectly/ and that will help you. ALso, it’s a good idea to invest in a meat thermometer ( https://amzn.to/3hQ6qO3 ) for larger steaks to grill them perfectly. We find we can’t mess up with a meat thermometer with the larger thicker steaks. I hope this helps!

July 4, 2021 at 8:17 pmWhat would you recommend for how to best deal with London broil that is only 1 inch thick? It was all the store had left
by Anna and Liz
July 4, 2021 at 10:07 pmHi Chuck, I hope this is not too late. But, I would recommend about 4 minutes per side – twice – for the 1-inch thick London Broil. The second time you turn them over, add the butter on top.

by Anna and Liz
