Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich
Sometimes the best meals are the simplest ones. Getting back to basics can be as satisfying as biting into a perfectly made Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich. Thick slices of bread toasted to a golden, buttery crunch cradle layers of creamy, melted cheese, while juicy tomatoes rest at the center, adding a burst of fresh, tangy sweetness.

For our grilled cheese, we addedย sliced tomatoes for additional flavor and it turned out delicious!

Ingredients Needed for Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich:
For this recipe, you will need 2 slices of bread, a couple of slices of cheese, and slices of tomato. Plus, one non-stick skillet and some butter.
How to Make Grilled Cheese & Tomato Sandwich?
This recipe is very easy and straightforward. There are 4 simple steps to making our grilled cheese sandwich.
First, place 2 slices of bread on your workspace, or cutting board. Place a thin slice of butter onto each slice. Top it with a slice of cheddar cheese.
Next, add a slice of tomato on each side. And, close the sandwich.
Place the sandwich onto a hot skillet, and grill on moderate heat for 2 to 4 minutes per side. Remove and serve.

Simple, easy, and delicious!
Notes and Tips:
- Try making this sandwich with your favorite cheeses, Swiss Cheese, Monterey Jack, Fontina, or even Polly O or Fresh Mozzarella.
- Also, I like using Calphalon skillets, they are fantastic for grilling, easy cleaning and last a long time.
- For a healthier twist, use whole wheat or whole grain bread.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich
Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich is a perfectย and simple sandwich to whip up anytime when you need one.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of white bread, or any bread of our choice
- 2 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1ย ripeย tomato -ย sliced thinly
- 1/2 Tbsp. of butter - divided
Instructions
1. Place a thinย slice of butter on each slice of bread.
2. Addย one slice of cheeseย on top.
3. Then add theย tomatoes and close the sandwich. The tomato should be in the center of the sandwich.
4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat until the skillet is hot. Place the sandwich and lower the heat to low. NOTE: No need to add anything to the nonstickย skillet.
5. On low heat, grill the sandwich for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy goldenย brown.
