What is Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday?

  • Tuesday is a day of celebration around the world with Christians who observe the day before Ash Wednesday, known as Pancake Day or Fat Tuesday!
  •  The term “Pancake Day” came about because it was a way to use up rich foods and ingredients such as eggs, milk, and sugar.
  • These rich foods are made to be consumed either for breakfast, dinner, and even dessert.
  • Also, the term Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday.” It is the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lent season. And it begins tomorrow on Ash Wednesday.

  1. Thank you for including pancakes, because as far as I’m concerned, that is a real tradition. Along with doughnuts, of course. And I’ve never turned down a waffle. Great recipes!

  2. I’m slowly trying to catch up since we were on vacation for two weeks recently. Don’t think we’ll be traveling again any time soon with the health concerns so glad to be Home Sweet Home 🙂 And what is home without pancakes 🙂 What a delicious selection!

    1. Hmm, that is a tough question. But I would start with breakfast, then work your way down to desserts for dinner and then desserts again after dinner….lol !! No matter where you start, it’s all good! Enjoy and have a great weekend
