Shrimp Cocktail with Jalapeno Peppers

This Shrimp Cocktail with Jalapeno Peppers makes a delicious appetizer.  An easy recipe for a shrimp cocktail is made with frozen shrimp that’s blanched and marinated with a wonderful combination of flavors infused with jalapeno peppers, cilantro, and lime juice.  The jalapeno peppers add enough heat to the shrimp making them addicting and giving this shrimp dish such an incredible aromatic taste with a kick!

Delicious Shrimp Cocktail…

Summer is about enjoying the outdoors and entertaining!

We love serving shrimp cocktails from time to time and this one is fantastic!  We adore so many shrimp recipes including our  Shrimp Cocktail with Vodka Sauce

Only this time, we think this shrimp cocktail with jalapeno peppers happens to be one of the best shrimp cocktails we have ever served.  Why?

Well, for one thing, the taste is amazingly fresh!  The lime juice along with the cilantro gives a fresh taste to the shrimp.

Then it’s served ice cold!

Best of all, we made it in less than 10 minutes!  Making it ideal for busy people like me!

Your family and friends will go BONKERS over this shrimp cocktail with jalapeno peppers!

In order to speed up the time to make this dish, we bought the already cleaned and deveined shrimp that comes frozen from Costco, bottled lime juice, and fresh cilantro.

Then marinate the shrimp in the fridge for a few hours before serving.  Easy-Peasy!

I also bought and prefer the brand La Costena green pickled Jalapeno peppers.  These jalapeno peppers are known as Mexican hot peppers and boy they are HOT!

And, they provide a great source of iron, magnesium, and niacin, along with Vitamins A, C, K, B6, and folate.  They can be found fresh in your produce aisle or pickled in the International section at your local supermarket.

Whether you’re having a small soiree or a large dinner party, this is a wonderful dish to serve friends and family anytime.

Everyone will love the shrimp, and it’s fun to watch how it disappears in no time!  My dear friend Sue was so nice to share her recipe with us, and we are so grateful.

Notes and Tips…

  • We prefer the brand of La Costena over any other for the pickled jalapeno peppers.  They are of better quality.

  • These are spicy shrimps, if you prefer a more mild flavor of heat, then we recommend reducing the pickle juice to 1/4 cup.

  • Don’t have a red onion?  No worries, you can omit it.  I added some to sweetened the pickled juice.

… THANKS for PINNING!

  1. Shrimp is always perfect in the summer because it isn't too heavy on the stomach AND you don't have to turn on the oven to heat your house. Love the addition of jalapenos. Well done!

  2. This is a great summer recipe! Even better because it's mostly things I always have on hand. (even the costco shrimp!) I'm not a cocktail sauce fan, so I love the added flavor from the jalapenos. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks, we do too! My sister Liz is a big Costco fan and makes this shrimp cocktail all spring and summer long. Everyone goes crazy for it. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving the lovely comment!
